Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Word and Light of Life.

Presenting the Thirty sixth Edition for 2007 of the WEEKLY DEVOTIONS:

Keep on praying, this world is in great need of it. "Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

This edition is dedicated to: Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Word and Light of Life.

Now that Christmas is over and Jesus Christ is born what are you doing about Him??? Jesus is the Light of the world since we are in darkness and He is the Light we should go to Him so that the darkness that surrounds us may be dispelled and our sins be forgiven.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John1:14

The Word of Life

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

We write this to make our joy complete. 1 John 1:1-4

The Word Became Flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known. John 1:1-18

The Word became flesh and we have seen his Glory.

Psalm 97

The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.

Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.

His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.

The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
before the Lord of all the earth.

The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.

All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!

Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, O LORD.

For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.

Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name.

Our Soul has Escaped like a Bird from the Hunter's Net

Psalm 124

If the LORD had not been on our side—
let Israel say-

if the LORD had not been on our side
when men attacked us,

when their anger flared against us,
they would have swallowed us alive;

the flood would have engulfed us,
the torrent would have swept over us,

the raging waters
would have swept us away.

Praise be to the LORD,
who has not let us be torn by their teeth.

We have escaped like a bird
out of the fowler's snare;
the snare has been broken,
and we have escaped.

Our help is in the name of the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Conclusion:

Nations, hear the message of the Lord, and make it known to the ends of the earth: Have no more fear; Our Savior is Here, Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. Amen, Alleluia!!!

Jesus Christ has freed us from our sins and made us whole. Hear our prayer, and let us keep celebrating the incarnation of Your Son.
